The Creation of Azalea

The Creation of Azalea

from $120.00

This one has a playful title: the way the azaleas seem to be reaching out for each other in this photograph reminds me of Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam. That said. I was torn because they also kind of remind me of elephants, with their petals as their ears and their pestles as their trunks and tusks. Azaleas are really visually interesting flowers. They spark my imagination. Do they spark yours? What do you see in this photo?

I released limited edition prints of this photograph in October, 2024 as part of my fundraising effort to support the American Cancer Society. Those prints are no longer available.
