About the term “Spatium”

Spatium is not a “series” in the traditional sense (such as my Eureka series) but instead, it is a new artistic discipline/field of study that combines the physics of warping dimensional space with aesthetic composition. I founded Spatium in 2020 after developing a method of constructing dimensional panels which vary simultaneously in height, width, depth, and pitch. These works are at once both painting and sculpture, and defy traditional definitions of both. A new definition was necessary to describe the new works being created which bridge the two, and so my partner, Caitlin Lissauer, and I chose the term “Spatium” on September 8th, 2020.
