On a trip to my favorite architectural salvage shop, I discovered coils and springs intertwined in a spiraling, swirling industrial vortex. These purpose-driven objects, designed to compress and expand, were imbued with a sense of kinetic potential, as if still buzzing with the force and motion they once embodied. By photographing them through a prism, I complemented their energy with by adding dynamic color, inviting viewers to see beyond the mechanical utility of these components. The coils are celebrated not only for their functional design but also for their aesthetic and symbolic qualities—embodying the dynamic interplay between form, function, and the vibrant world created through industry and technology.
